First Vice President
Recognized as one of the most respected Professional Engineers in New York City, First Vice President/Director of Operations Delia Shumway has an impressive twenty-plus years of experience in design and construction and is highly regarded for her significant body of work and extensive contribution to the industry. Prior to joining New Line Structures (NLS) she was Executive Director of the Cranes and Derricks Division of N.Y.C. D.O.B. (DOB) where she was responsible for overseeing the safe use of mobile cranes, crawler cranes, and tower cranes throughout New York City. Previously, she was Chief Engineer of the Excavation/Interior Demolition/Stalled Sites Unit at DOB where she monitored a team of engineers responsible for performing technical audits of new buildings, major alterations, and stalled sites. During this time, she co-wrote “The Support of Excavation Guideline,” which has widely been distributed and implemented throughout the industry. Before joining the DOB, she was on staff at DeSimone Consulting Engineers for 10 years, where she led a team of engineers on multiple design projects from initial schematic stages through design, development, construction, and sign-off. She also analyzed and designed concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures. Her expertise in Support of Excavation, and her experience as Executive Director of the Cranes and Derricks Division establishes Ms. Shumway as the perfect (and leading) candidate to guide these operations and direct all construction activities for NLS.
