SUMMARY:
108 Leonard Street is an existing late 19th-century Tribeca landmark with the unique distinction of both interior and exterior designation as New York City landmarks, and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Italian Renaissance Revival structure designed by McKim, Mead & White is also known as the Clock Tower Building. New Line Structures was Construction Manager as Agent for this 431,000 SF, sixteen-story adaptive reuse conversion with extensive renovation and restoration. Comprehensive rejuvenation of approximately 140,000 square feet of landmarked, Tuckahoe Marble façade included repair and replacement of large portions of original stone ornamentation; removal and repair of four multi-ton, stone eagle sculptures; and repointing, repair, and replacement of an additional 70,000 square feet of brick. Restoration also required removal and in-kind replacement of approximately 1300 landmarked windows, many up to 12 feet tall. 108 Leonard now houses a approximately 167 luxury residential units, retail and community space, amenity spaces and parking with private motor reception area at the lower levels. Upper level and rooftop were reconstructed providing gardens and private exterior terraces. 108 Leonard Street was completed in 2021.
